The first thing we noticed is that within the first twenty four hours of using the Audio Technica ATH-A900 the sound isn’t as good as it should be, it comes across a little tinny, but once the Audio Technica ATH-A900’s warm up and settle in, you will be enjoying fantastic sound. It just means that you must be patient for about twenty four hours. This is pretty standard as it’s the ‘burn out’ phase
These headphones do tend to get a little heavy after extended periods of use. While the Audio Technica ATH-A900’s are built for maximum comfort, it’s not the comfort factor that is the problem, it’s the actual headphones get heavy and tiring.
While the Audio Technica ATH-A900 headphones are designed with 3D wing technology and a double headband with bulky ear coverings, they didn’t take people who wear glasses into consideration. While the Audio Technica ATH-A900 won’t mess up your new hair style, they will push the ends of your glasses in behind your ears, making it a little uncomfortable for glasses wearers to use these headphones for extended periods.
I know when I buy headphones I want to be able to use them at home, in the car or out and about, the whole enjoyment of having them is I can listen to music anywhere. The Audio Technica ATH-A900’s have been designed for hi-fi only, which means that they aren’t as portable as some would like. Due to the Audio Technica ATH-A900’s bulky size, you cannot pop them in a bag out of sight when not in use, so if you’re looking for portability, these probably are not for you.
The last problem that has been noted with these headphones is that they tend to have a slightly metallic edge to their sound. While Audio Technica prides themselves on superior sound quality and outstanding base, it appears that this little problem with the Audio Technica ATH-A900’s slipped past their radar.

The Audio Technica ATH-A900 headphones are very big and I wouldn’t wear them on the street but they are perfect for use indoors being incredibly comfortable…
